Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2004-05 to search out resistant sources Against budfly (Dasyneurauni Barnes) and capsule borer (Helicoverpa armigera Hubner). Results revealed that out of 12 genotypes, three of them vi;. GS-434, JRF-5 and EC-1424 emerged as resistant to budtly as they suffered from bud damage less than 10 per cent. In case of varietal response against capsule borer, nine cultivars were found to be resistantagainst the pest. As such, resistant germplasms of linseed against capsule borer were CI-1385, GS-234, 1/276, OS-434, JRF 5, LMS- 109-2K,2C-1.424, Rashmi and A-95B. Only one germplasm Neelum was highly susceptible against D. lini and H. arrnigera. The highest seed yield of 12.77 q/ha was obtained with GS-434 as this entry remained resistant against both of the pest species.
