Abstract
The genus Moniezia was established by Blanchard in 1891 as type species Moniezia expansa from Ovis aries Skrjabin & Schulz, 1937 divided this genus into three subgenera as follows:
e Moniezia : Interproglottidal glands grouped in rosettes o Blanchariesia: Interglottidal glands arromyed lineally • Baerizia : Interproglottidal glands absent
The present worm agrees in all the characters, with subgenus Blanchariezia Skijabin & Schulz, 1937 which is having following six species:
Moniezia (b) benedeni Moniez, 1879 Moniesia (b) pallida Monning, 1926 Moniezia (b) aurangabadensis Shinde et al. 1985 Moniezia (b) bharalae Shinde et al 1985 Moniezia (b) waranangeensis Patil et al. 1997 Moniezia (b) kalawati Nanaware et al. 1999
The present communication deals with the description of a new species (B) Caprai n.sp. collected from Capra hirus at Sarola Kasar, Tq. Nagar, Dist. Ahmednagar (Maharashtra), India.
