Abstract

Seasonal variations in the lipid contents were investigated in the muscles during the breeding cycle in Cirrhina reba (Hamilton). The variations observed were related to the maturation cycle of the fish. The study indicated that there was rapid build up of fat in the muscle during the period of peak maturity and declined after spawning.
