Abstract
Fish diversity in Tarangwadi lake in Pune District Maharashtra has been studied. The study revealed the presence of twenty seven species of fish belonging to ten families in four orders (Cyprinidae, Osteoglossiformes, Siluriformes and Perciformes). The predominant orders of fishes in this area are Cypriniformes, Perciformes and Siluriformes. The highest number of ten species were recorded from the order Cypriniformes. The fishes recorded were found to be widely distributed and had good numbers in the lake.
