Abstract

Mango hoppers are the most serious pests of mango causing losses usually from 20 to 60 percent. From the studies conducted on susceptibility of various mango cultivars to mango hopper in New Alluvial Zone of West Bengal. it was found that the variety Meghlanthan and Himsagar harboured maximum number of hoppers while moderate population was recorded on Langra and Fazli. The interaction between varieties and date of observations were statistically significant which indicates that maximum hopper population was observed during 2" fortnight of March on shoot, first fortnight of May on trunk and minimum hopper population was found during 1" fortnight of January.
