Abstract

The study was conducted for the specific butterfly survey in Rabo dam on the Kurket River, Tamnar Tehsil, Raigarh District, Chhattisgarh State in India, and recorded 41 species of butterflies belonging to five families and 12 subfamilies. Observation and photographic documentation were made during random walk between 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM with digital cameras. and the survey results were compared with the earlier studies and prepared the first specific checklist of butterflies for Raigarh as 58 species, with 17 new records for the Raigarh district.
