Abstract

The avian diversity is the prime indicator of a healthy wetland and the wetlands fall in Gaya region is enriched with floral diversity. Due to the enriched floral diversity, the present study was designed to look into the abundance and trophic groups of birds inhabiting in and around the Wetlands of Gaya district in selected sites. A total number of 3753 individuals of 42 species belongs to 19 families were recorded during the survey in 2022-2023. Human conflicts like poaching, encroachment in the wetlands were observed during survey.
