Abstract
Experimental study on dissipation kinetics of imidaloprid residue in curry leaf was conducted at the Orchard, Horticultural College and Research Institute for Women, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The residue analysis was done using HPLC system. The LOQ of the method is 0.38 mg/kg and the LOD of detection in our system is 0.0041 mg/kg. At location 1, the initial deposit of imidacloprid for the recommended dose was 1.82 mg/kg while at double the recommended doses the initial deposit was 3.28 mg/kg. The initial deposits at location 2 were 1.76 and 3.37 mg/kg at recommended and double the recommended dose. Irrespective of the doses, the residues were quantified up to 14 days after treatment. At location 1, half-life (t1/2) was 6.35 days for recommended dose and 9.63 days at double the recommended doses of imidacloprid. Half-life (t1/2) at location 2 was 6.42 days for recommended dose and 9 days for double the recommended doses of imidacloprid. The maximum residue limit (MRL) was fixed as as 3 mg/kg for imidacloprid in curry leaf.
