Abstract

A survey of the plant parasitic nematodes associated with the medicinal plants carried out in different localities of Manipur revealed the occurrence of a large number of hoplolaimids, nine known species belonging to the genus Scutellonema were recorded, detailed measurements, habitat and localities of the following known species have been provided. Of the nine known species, reported so far, the following species - Scutellonema aberrans, S. africanum, S. clathricaudatum, S. commune and S. truncatum are being reported for the first time from India. S. clathricaudatum, S. commune and S. truncatum have been redescribed and illustrations for S. aberrans, S. africanum and S. sheri also provided as additional information.
