Abstract

A female specimen of the Camallanid nematode Procamallanus sp. probably a separate species is described and figured, obtained from the intestine of Polynemus sextarius. Polynemus sextarius represents a new host and a new locality record. It has been proved to be a member of the Camallanid genus Procamallanus and a detailed description of the specimen has been furnished. The species is distinguishable from related species of the genus in the number of spiral thickenings in the buccal capsule, body measurements, position of nerve ring and shape of tail.
