Abstract

The present study deals with toxic effects of sublethal concentrations of dimethoate and malathion on the liver of fresh water teleost Catla catla exposed to 96 hr duration. Toxicity is measured in terms of AChE activity and kinetic parameters Km, Vmax. Significant increase in inhibition of AChE activity was observed. Increased Km value and constant Vmax value as the concentration of pesticide increased depicts competitive nature of inhibition.
