Abstract

The performance of Mirror and Grass carps in monoculture was evaluated under sub temperate agroecological conditions of lower Kullu Valley in Himchal Pradesh. The gross production of Mirror carp was obtained as much as 25.55 q/ha/yr and that of Grass carp 60.00 q/ha/yr. The temperature with its wide range of fluctuations was recorded as a critical factor in fish culture in ponds under sub temperate climatic conditions.
