STUDIES ON THE SOIL CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES OF SODIC SOIL FISH POND ECOSYSTEM AND THEIR MANAGEMENT PRACTICES

Abstract
Sodic soil fish ponds exhibited the following characteristic features: clay 15%, silt 68%. sand 17%, pH 9.2. organic carbon 0.15%, available nitrogen 30 mg N/100g soil, available phosphorus 44 mg. P/100g soil. exchangeable sodium 16.5 mg/100g soil and bottom fauna 7.5 g/m. To increase the production capacity of such ponds, the use of nutrient carriers with degree of regularity is necessary.
