Abstract

Cucullanus fastigatus (Chandler, 1935) from three hosts Pomadasys maculatus (Bloch), Dendrophysa russeli (Cuvier) and Epinephelus undulosus (Quoy and Gaimard) from Visakhapatnam is redescribed. Three new hosts and a new locality record. The present specimens tally with the principle characters of Cucullanus fastigatus (Chandler, 1935) Rasheed, 1968. A detailed description of the specimens have been furnished. The variations is the morphology of Cfastigatus (Chandler, 1935) Rasheed, 1968 described by two authors have been mentioned. A detailed exxamination allowed us to consider the present specimens as C. fastigatus (Chandler, 1935) Rasheed, 1968 albeit certain variations.
