Abstract

In the present work, the length-weight relationships of Puntius kolus were studied. The fishes were collected at regular interval of seven days, from Mutha river, Warje, near Pune. The obtained data, after calculations revealed the length weight relationship in males and females as follows:

Males : W = 0.007932 L3.1059

Females : W = 0.005085 L3.2489

The length weight relationship in females showed a high degree of positive correlationship with the coefficient of correlation being 0.9987, whereas in males it was 0.9971.
