Abstract

Taxonomic composition and the effect of some factors on the population density of arthropods in a forest stand dominated by Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. were studied for a period of two years. Out of the total number of 70395 individuals in 260 samples, Coleoptera made up 2.01% of Arthropoda. It was represented by 78 species belonging to 21 families. The population density varied from 7.81 to 874.92 m-'. Maximum values were observed in rainy season.
