Abstract
Testosterone propionate, an androgen was administered through diet to young climbing perch Anabas testudineus at concentrations of 1.0 and 2.0 ppm over a period of 60 days and its effects on protein and nucleic acid (RNA) contents of muscle, liver, kidney, brain and gonad were evaluated. The results showed a significant inhancement in protein and nucleic acid content in different tissues in the group received 1.0 ppm concentration of the steroid.
