Abstract

The present paper deals with the description of a new species of a nematode of the family Camallanidae Railliet et Henry, 1915 from the intestine of marine fish, Cybium guttatum (Bloch and Schneider) from Kalingapatnam (Andhra Pradesh). These species slightly vary from the description of the hitherto known species of the genus. Hence a detailed description and status of the worms are based on two male and two female worms characterized by body measurements, length of oesophagus and oesophageal appendix, size of spicules, number and arrangement of caudal papillae, Vulva position and structure of tail end. Thus it could be considered as a new species, Raphidascaroides guttatus.
