Abstract
In O. platensis, the egg size is found to varyin accordance with the stage of development. With few exceptions, all the eggs in a single brood-pouch are in the same stage of development. In brief, the entire development can be divided into eight stages. The young juveniles range between 1.3 mm and 1.6 mm in length at the time of hatching.
