Abstract
A new myxosporidian parasite, T. chilkensis n.sp., invading the gill lamellae of the common carp, Labeo rohita, occurring in Chilka lake (Orissa, India) is described. A review of the species of genus Thelohaenellus reported so far from fishes in India is also given.
