Abstract
A new species, D. gayaprashadi is described from a freshwater fish Xenientodon cancia (Ham). It is characterised by 2 dactyles on either side of ventral sucker, oval and tandem testes, genital pore at the base of peduncle and vitelline follicles extending from the level of ventral sucker up to posterior end of body.
