Abstract
Biological observations such as emergence of adults, mating behaviour oviposition, fecundity and sex ratio of the gallicolous insect, P. depressa are detailed in the present paper. While the phenomenon of mating occurs in three successive phases viz. pre-copulation, copulation and post-copulation, the oviposition is performed in two phases, viz. pre-oviposition and oviposition. The females, which differ from the males by colour and certain morphometrical characters, predominate over the males.
