Abstract
The effect of a synthetic pyrethroid fenvalerate Sumicidin) on the biochemical composition of haemolymph of cockroach P. americana was studied at a dose of 0.89 uglg body weight at various periods. Results show the decrease of carbohydrates free amino acids, aminotransferases and increase of total proteins suggesting that the metabolism of haemolymph was oriented towards the synthetic phase to counteract the stress induced by the insecticide.
