Abstract

Topical application of JH-analogues (RO and FME) on the newly moulted ultimate instar larvae of S. litura resulted in an appreciable increase in the duration of 5th instar and body weight of full grown larva along with increase in head width, body length, length of mesothoracic leg, diameter of mesothoracic femur and length of proleg. However, the pupal period, length of mature pupa and its width across thoracic region got significantly decreased. Further the adults emerged from the treated larvae showed reduced weight and did not live longer as compared to the normal ones.
