Abstract

In Athalia lugens proxima, the activity of LDH falls suddenly during the first half of the last instar larval life and remains low till the onset of pupation. With the beginning of pupal life, its activity increases and remains so upto some period after larval-pupal ecdysis. Subsequently, the activity of LDH falls till the emergence. Overall, the activity of this enzyme follows a 'A' shaped curve during metamorphosis,
